Developer plans apartments for Little Wanderers site

Jamaica Plain’s Home for Little Wanderers is on its way to becoming a home for just about anyone.

Developer Boston Residential Group has reached a deal to buy the nonprofit child welfare agency’s South Huntington Avenue property, tear everything down and put up an apartment building with as many as 200 units.

“We really like the Jamaica Plain neighborhood and location,” said Curtis Kemeny, the company’s CEO. “We like its proximity to the Longwood Medical Area, to Angell Animal Medical Center, the Back Bay and to downtown employers.”

Realtors group’s faulty stats had no effect on homebuyer’s price

Q: I bought a house this summer, and in light of the National Association of Realtors’ admission that they’ve been overstating home sales since 2007, I’m wondering if that faulty data may have made me overpay for my house.

A: The National Association of Realtors found that for some years, it made mistakes in reporting the number of sales, not sale prices. If your home was exposed on the open market and other buyers knew about it, you can be pretty sure you paid market value. And don’t forget that your lender’s appraiser reported that the property was worth enough to act as security for your mortgage loan.

State Redistricting Shifts Polling Places In Enfield

The recent redrawing of state legislative and congressional districts will mean some changes for Enfield voters when they cast their ballots in coming months. Hoping to minimize the impact for residents and encourage a strong turnout in the November general election, the town is now considering redrawing its council districts ahead of schedule.

After redistricting on the state level a mandatory once-in-a-decade process that helps adjust for population shifts the borders of the 58th and 59th House districts have shifted slightly. Currently, Kathleen Tallarita represents District 58 and David Kiner represents District 59.

Basically, the boundary of District 58 shifted east to North Maple Street.
