State Redistricting Shifts Polling Places In Enfield
January 22nd, 2012The recent redrawing of state legislative and congressional districts will mean some changes for Enfield voters when they cast their ballots in coming months. Hoping to minimize the impact for residents and encourage a strong turnout in the November general election, the town is now considering redrawing its council districts ahead of schedule.
After redistricting on the state level a mandatory once-in-a-decade process that helps adjust for population shifts the borders of the 58th and 59th House districts have shifted slightly. Currently, Kathleen Tallarita represents District 58 and David Kiner represents District 59.
Basically, the boundary of District 58 shifted east to North Maple Street.
